**Recommended List of Items to Take on Hajj Trip**
FOR EVERYONE:
- One bath towel
- One small plastic bottle of unscented shampoo
- One small bar of unscented bath soap (dove, for example)
- One small can of unscented dusting powder
- One traveling toothbrush and tube of toothpaste
- One small plastic tube of unscented Vaseline
- One hairbrush and/or comb
- One prayer rug made of straw (available at the Jeddah airport)
- If you wear prescription eyeglasses, it is highly recommended that you bring an extra pair.
- One pair of sunglasses
- One pair of safety glasses (to be used during the stoning – highly recommended)
- One small, heavy-duty cloth bag with strap to carry stones
- You should take enough prescription medicine to last you during the entire trip, and you should carry it with you in your hand luggage (not checked luggage). It is advisable to carry a prescription of all your medication in case you need to buy some there. Also, be sure to take some Tylenol (or similar medicine) and some cough drops and/or throat drops in case of sore throat.
- One pair of small scissors, and one fingernail clipper (Be sure to put this in your checked luggage. Do not attempt to carry them on to the plane with you, because it is against current airline safety regulations).
- One camera
- One small flashlight
- One sleeping bag, preferably made of cotton and weighing between 2- 2 ½ pounds (optional)
- One bed sheet (optional)
FOR MEN ONLY:
- One pair of rubber beach sandals (not stitched). Be sure to bring very comfortable shoes to wear for daily use during the rest of the trip.
- One money belt (not stitched). These are available at the Jeddah airport, Medina, or Iran.
- For men: one set of Ihram, available at the Jeddah airport. Also, at least two of each: shirts, pants or white cotton pajamas, and some undergarments (preferably cotton and hand washable)
FOR WOMEN ONLY:
- One pair of tennis shoes. Be sure to bring very comfortable shoes to wear for daily use during the rest of the trip.
- One pouch for women to be worn around the neck for securing money and other valuables
- For women, at least two of each: long white maghneh (should be long enough to reach to the wrists), white pants, white dresses, and some undergarments (preferably cotton and hand washable).
- One small folding umbrella (preferably white) and a hand fan
